Electrifying Torah Insights about Angels
Electrifying Torah Insights about Angels
Malachim are spoken of constantly and understood barely at all. What are they, what are they sent to do, and where does the Gemara say they are standing right now?
Fifty-five essays on the unseen world — the ranks of malachim and what each is for, the malachim a person makes by his own actions, the heavenly choir, the adversary who becomes an ally, the malach at the splitting of the sea, and the ones the Gemara says walk a man home on Friday night.
Baba Basra and Sanhedrin are the spine of it, with the Arizal, the Vilna Gaon, the Ramban and the Zohar.
For a reader who wants the subject handled with sources rather than atmosphere.
Rabbi Yehoshua Alt has written thirteen seforim in the Insights series, and writes the weekly Fascinating Insights sheet carried on JewishPress.com.
